Anlin Xu, MD

Anlin Xu, MD, is a board-certified allergist and immunologist and president and CEO of South Bay Allergy and Asthma Group, which offers convenient locations in San Jose, Los Gatos, Mountain View, and Redwood City, California. An allergy sufferer for more than 20 years, Dr. Xu is passionate about bringing the same levels of symptom relief and satisfaction in treatment to all her patients.

Certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy & Immunology, Dr. Xu’s medical career began as a student at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology, and later a medical doctorate, which she earned with honors.

Shortly after graduation, Dr. Xu moved to New Haven, Connecticut, for her internal medicine residency at Yale University, during which time, she was award a postdoctoral fellowship award by the National Institute of Health (NIH) for her research in Cutaneous T Cell Lymphoma (CTCL). Finally, Dr. Xu relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area for her fellowship in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology at a combined program by the Stanford University and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Centers.

As an experienced allergist and immunologist, Dr. Xu’s areas of expertise include hay fever, food allergy, asthma, allergic contact dermatitis, hives, and eczema in children and adults. She is thrilled to be working with Bay Area communities and speaks Mandarin and Shanghainese fluently, to better serve her patients.

Dr. Xu has received several prestigious awards over the years, including a fellowship award in dermatology by the NIH and a clinical fellowship award through the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. She also received a mention in the San Jose Magazine “Top Docs” list.

In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Xu is a past and current co-president of the South Bay American Medical Women’s Association. She is a member of American Medical Association and a delegate to the California Medical Association. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology; the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology; and the American Contact Dermatitis Society.

Katharine Nelson, MD

Katharine Nelson, MD, is a board-certified allergist and immunologist who specializes in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of allergies and asthma in children and adults. Certified by both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy & Immunology, Dr. Nelson works with patients at South Bay Allergy and Asthma Group, with locations in San Jose, Los Gatos, Mountain View, and Redwood City, California.

Dr. Nelson graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Microbiology and Immunology, with honors, from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, before completing her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. She then completed her Pediatrics residency at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, serving as chief resident.

Dr. Nelson came to the Bay Area in 2009 to complete her fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at the prestigious Stanford University. Her special interests and areas of expertise include food allergy, urticaria (hives), angioedema, allergic rhinitis, asthma, and pediatric and adult immune deficiency.

Dr. Nelson is thrilled to provide patient-centered care at South Bay Allergy and Asthma Group, where she is able to take the time to listen to her patients’ concerns and create personalized treatment plans for them.

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Nelson is on the board of South Bay American Medical Women’s Association was adjunct clinical faculty member at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is also an active member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the American Academy of Pediatrics, Western Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.

John Kellogg, MD, MS

Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology Physician

Born in San Francisco to a career Navy sea captain and devoted mother, Dr. Kellogg also spent some time in the Navy after graduation from the U. S. Naval Academy as Naval Flight Officer (NFO). He subsequently attended Stanford University to get a Masters in Biological Sciences and Tulane University Medical School to complete his MD. After residency in Internal Medicine at UCSF, he served as a staff physician at the Naval Hospital Lemoore CA. During this tour of duty he was appointed President of the Medical Staff of the hospital. He then went on to allergy fellowship in Texas with the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Center. Finishing 24 years of combined Navy service as the staff allergist at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth VA, he joined the South Bay Allergy and Asthma Group in 2005.

Dr. Kellogg and his wife Leslie are blessed with eight children including four children adopted through foster parenting for the County of Santa Clara. He enjoys investing in the lives of young people through soccer, hockey and children’s ministries at church as well as teaching a couple classes in chemistry or physics at Golden State Baptist College. Dr. Kellogg’s special interests include chronic sinusitis, immune deficiencies, contact dermatitis as well as asthma and allergic rhinitis. He has especially enjoyed practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area because of the rich cultural diversity that makes South Bay Allergy and Asthma Group a truly international practice.

June Zhang, MD

Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology Physician

June Zhang, MD is a board-certified allergist and immunologist with more than 10 years of experience. She has been recognized as the one of the Bay Area’s Top Allergists by Castle Connolly Top Doctors Guide published in the San Francisco Magazine 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Certified by both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy & Immunology, Dr. Zhang treats children and adults at South Bay Allergy and Asthma Group, with locations in San Jose, Mountain View, and Redwood City, California.

She is passionate about treating food allergies, eczema, vocal cord dysfunction, asthma and chronic hives/swelling. She is committed to the highest standards of practice, strive to understand the root cause of the illness and providing personalized care. She is dedicated to educating patients on their health concerns so they can make informed decisions and believes in working with her patients as a team to improve their quality of life, decrease medication dependence and promote long term health.

Dr. Zhang graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology from the University of Washington in Seattle before earning her medical doctorate from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 2003. She later completed her pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital Oakland in California and then moved to Pennsylvania for an allergy and immunology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where she trained with an internationally renowned severe asthma specialist. Additionally, she also served as adjunct faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern and mentored Baylor residents in her practice in Dallas prior to moving to the Bay Area.

She speaks Mandarin fluently and is an active member of the California Medical Association, the San Mateo County Medical Association, South Bay American Medical Women’s Association and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. She is also a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. Dr. Zhang is married and enjoys photography, traveling and has two house bunnies of her own.

Amanda Dimech, PA-C

Amanda is a board-certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She was born and raised in the Bay Area and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California, Davis. She later completed her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. She is passionate about the field of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and enjoys working with patients of all ages. She hopes to help each patient improve their health and enjoy life without the burden of asthma and allergies.
